High-Speed Envelope Machine Set-up/Mechanical Trainee
Our client is Canada's largest manufacturer and marketer of a broad range of high quality stock and custom envelopes, labels and related mailing products. They are looking for 4 Mechanical Trainee's for their locations in Etobicoke and Mississauga
We are looking for mechanically inclined Trainees.
Envelope Machine Adjuster is responsible for set up and running of envelope machines.
Duties include, but not limited to:
- Set up and run envelope machine for maximum efficiency and top quality
- Work with Flexographic printing
- Adjust machine for optimum product quality and machine speed
- Inspect product on start-up and throughout run
- Work closely with machine Operator to ensure machine starts up safely & runs good quality product
- Feed machine with raw materials: paper, gum and ink
- Perform maintenance on machine
- Use mechanical tools and read measuring devices
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Excellent mechanical aptitude a must (may like to work on cars or renovations in spare time, or have experience working in a garage)
- Paper converting/printing knowledge in related industries ideal (print, folding cartons, paper packaging, etc.)
- Ability to work independently to trouble shoot and solve mechanical problems
- Skilled Trades Mechanical College Diploma a definite asset (may have Mechanical Engineering background)
- Ability to differentiate all colors
- Punctual and reliable
- Good communication skills
- Willing to work rotating shift work: days, afternoons and nights
- Willingness to work overtime when needed
- Must have safety shoes
- Must have or acquire set of tools
Compensation:
- Starting Hourly Rate: $17.00
- Contract to-perm position
If hired:
- Hourly Rate upon hire: $17.50/hr
- Pay scale top rate: $27.69/hr (progression through 4-year program)

Hours:
- Rotating shift schedule (2 weeks per shift):
Etobicoke:
- Day Shift: 7am-3pm
- Afternoon Shift: 3pm-11pm
- Night Shift: 11pm-7am
Mississauga:
- Day Shift: 6am-2pm
- Afternoon Shift: 2pm-10pm
- Night Shift: 10pm-6am
- Must be able to work overtime, when required
