Store Supervisor - 4-5 days pw, Hounslow, £19 -20,000 negotiable

We are an established Uniform, Sportswear and Accessories business, based near Heathrow. With several long-standing customers, as well as new enquiries every day we have a steadily growing portfolio of new clients. Our business consists of a retail store and website as well as a wholesale operation, which includes acting as a distribution house for particular clients.

We are looking for an experienced and reliable Store Supervisor to join our enthusiastic and hardworking team. We offer a busy and fun environment with the opportunity to meet new people. The role suits a friendly and confident person who can contribute to the management of the store, sell our products and ensure customers receive the highest level of service.

In summary the position is:

Store Supervisor
Hounslow, Middlesex
4 - 5 Days per week (Including Saturday or Sunday)
£19,000 - £20,000 pa (Negotiable)

We believe in working hard, but also having fun! To thank our team for their dedication, in the last 18 months we have taken them out many times including "thank-you" drinks by the river, a party in a 5* hotel and an end of season celebration evening in a shisha lounge! Of course, we have an annual Christmas Dinner plus during the year we aim to reward individual effort with periodic gifts or vouchers.

As Store Supervisor, you will be a key holder. You will be required to provide support and management of the team, greet and serve customers, operate the till system including opening and end of day close, check in deliveries, replenish stock and keep the store clean and tidy. You will also need to liaise with retail customers and internally with the Admin/Purchasing Department and Accounts.

In general, no two days will be that same and, by way of example, the following is a non-exhaustive list of the variety of tasks that may need to be carried out in a typical week (split into the main areas of work): -

Key Responsibilities

Daily Tasks
Opening the store
Operating the till/EPOS system accurately
Processing retail customers and account customers
End of day procedures including cashing up the till (i.e.: X Report, Z Report, end-of-day card banking, etc)
On exit, lock external doors and windows, switch off lights and set alarm

Sales & Marketing
To sell our products, ensuring the customer needs are always considered
Maintain product knowledge, ensuring customers are advised accordingly
Maximize sales through advice and suggestion (NO pressurized selling)
Manage seasonal stock and ensure it is merchandised correctly
Offer to upsell, where appropriate
Maintaining a smart shop front display (and changing it periodically)
Help with marketing generally, including email marketing and social media

Customer Service
To ensure every customer receives the highest level of service
Maintain good customer relationships, as there are many repeat customers
Managing customer expectations - e.g. for items out of stock, taking orders and notifying customers when orders will/have arrived
This includes liaising with Admin on spreadsheet of outstanding and special customer orders
Processing exchanges and refunds
Acknowledging compliments and, when necessary, handling complaints in a professional manner until resolved

Stock Management
Checking in stock received against delivery notes (& reporting any discrepancies)
Allocating stock to retail (liaising with Admin) or wholesale (liaising with Accounts)
Barcoding stock
Placing goods in stock rooms and replenishing the shop floor
Merchandising and displaying stock correctly
Recording any faulty or mislabeled garments, and reporting to Admin

Website
Printing web orders received
Picking web orders and dispatching via couriers or Royal Mail

Team Supervision
Managing staff Rota
Setting out daily lunch rotation
Completion of daily tasks including stock counts, managing deliveries & filling

General
Answering telephone calls, managing queries and forwarding where required
Diary management
Writing and answering customer emails
Replenishing daily admin materials, e.g. Rota sheets, stock sheets, till rolls, etc,.
Ensuring shop floor is kept clean and tidy.
Full stock check twice a year
Attend school selling events and induction evenings when required
Any other reasonable tasks requested by the Management

Key IT Systems
Apple Mac based business (experience of Mac helpful, not essential)
Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook (i.e. email)
LightSpeedTill/Epos system, including CRM (training provided)

Skills & Experience Required
You will need to have good organisational skills and be able to multi task and take on various duties. Good communication and numerical skills with an excellent telephone manner is essential. You will ideally have worked inspecialist or clothing retail previously and be used to taking on personal responsibility.

Ideally you will have a solid work background, be confident and professional, and be able to a make significant contribution to running the store and shop floor team, both smoothly and efficiently.

You will need to demonstrate: -

Prior experience as a Store Supervisor/Deputy Manger
Professional phone manner
Ability to solve problems
Computer literate - i.e. Microsoft applications mentioned above
Financially literate
Reliable and trustworthy
Organised and happy to take on responsibility
Ability to work unsupervised
Able to work individually or part of a team
Flexible, e.g. willing to help

The store is open 9.00am to 5.30pm. Working hours are 8.45am to 5.45pm, with 3 or 4 days during the week plus Saturday or Sunday (Sunday 11am - 4pm). One hour for lunch. However, applicants should be prepared to be flexible as varying hours, some additional weekend and occasional off-site work will be required, particularly in the summer due to the seasonality of the business.

This is a permanent role, based in our Hounslow store (car parking facilities available; excellent public transport links very close by).
