Detalhe da Função

Synchronised Solution is recruiting General Practitioners to work with the National Health Service (NHS) in Northern England. There are vacancies in the North of England in locations such as Greater Manchester, Cheshire and Merseyside, Yorkshire, Lancashire, Cumbria and North East.

We are currently looking to recruit European General Practitioners / Family Doctors. To be considered for these vacancies you need to have completed your residency in family medicine programme within a European Union University. Candidates must have a good level of English. We can however start working with your application even if your level of English is not yet up to the required standard.

The International General Practitioner recruitment Programme allows the GP to move to the UK even before you have completed your General Medical Council registration (you need however to be eligible for registration) and without the english IELTS/OET certificate. You would be able to have your initial interview with the NHS before getting the GMC registration and obtaining your English exam certificate.

The process would usually work like this:

First interview with the NHS which can be done via Skype.

Second interview would be a 2 day interview event in the chosen area of the UK, including visits to potential practices. Flights and accommodation for the GP as well as immediate family members are covered by the NHS.

If your job offer is confirmed and if you accept to move forward, there will be the following steps:

STEP 1 – Observational Post

The General Practitioner will receive ongoing support to easily integrate into the NHS and to better understand the British health system policy, structure and activity. The training programme is delivered by GP Trainers, coordinated by Health Education England and will support your preparation for the Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) and Simulated Surgery exams

Monthly net income: £3,000

Duration: expected to be up to 3-6 months

Other benefits: up to 4 attempts of Multiple Choice Question exam and Simulated Surgery costs will be supported by the NHS

Relocation costs of up to £8,500 for EEA GPs, which will help to cover flights for you/your family, 3 months accommodation and travel in the UK. The relocation also covers shipping costs if you wish to bring any belongings to the UK.

STEP 2 – Supervised GP Placement

You will start working under a supervised placement and you will be monitored by a GP Trainer. The results of the MCQ and Simulated Surgery will determine the length of the placement.

Monthly net income: £3,500

Duration: expected to be around 6 months

Other benefits: one-off payment towards your indemnity insurance

STEP 3 – Independent GP Work

Following your placement, you will start working independently and unsupervised as a GP in the UK, employed by a NHS GP practice. You will have your own appointments and you will organise your activity independently. This contract is usually for 3 years.

Annual gross income: Starts at £68,000 (can be higher) and uplifted annually at least in line with the Review Body recommended increase. You can also work as a locum doing extra shifts to boost your income if you desire.

The Language Criteria for the International GP Programme to start the interview process  is as following:

International English Language Testing System IELTS- Overall 6.5 (Listening and Speaking at least 6.5. Reading and Writing at least 6)

Occupational English Test OET (Listening and Speaking at least B. Reading and Writing at least C+)

Cambridge English Qualifications CEQ you need to have at least a C1 advanced level

So GPs don’t need to have an actual certificate at this stage.

For the second interview in the UK and entry onto the programme, the candidate needs:

  • Certification at IELTS 7.0 overall within which one domain (reading or writing) may be at 6.0
  • Certification at OET with one domain (reading or writing) acceptable at Grade C+ and the remaining domains at B (or above).
  • Certification of Cambridge English to C1 advanced

We are looking to receive applications from all candidates with completed residency in family medicine even if your level of English is not yet up to the required level.

To apply for this great opportunity please send your updated English CV.
