Core Job Purpose

Reporting to the Partnership Director Integrated Services, Serco LD&T, responsible for the leadership and development of the Irish Contract Base providing direction to the Contract Managers in line with Regional and Business Unit vision, goals and strategies. Deliver and sustain a safe and quality service, whilst driving excellent customer advocacy and high performing teams. Accountable for Account Management and delivering strong financial returns, organic growth and new business in line with plan.

Special Features of Job

- Delivering ambitious organic/new business growth in line with the agreed Integrated Services Business Plan

- Having a detailed knowledge of the Irish FM market, aware of the latest developments and innovations to be able to interact professionally at Senior Client level and located in country

- Strong commercial skills needed to own a challenging P&L covering a selection of FM contracts that are geographically distributed.

- Coach and mentor Contract Managers and able to assist with the design and delivery of the optimum structure for future growth.

- Ensure appropriate governance is followed on new business, mobilisations and client management.

Job Dimensions

- Leadership of x7 staff

- Define and implement strategies and annual plans to grow the business in line with the Serco Integrated Services vision

- Management and development of multiple customers and contracts maximising the penetration of the complete range of Serco services across a range of operational activities and locations.

- Develop close working relationships with other Operating Units, Joint Ventures across the European region to identify synergies and ensure appropriate `reach back` to Serco.

Strategy and Plans

To contribute as a member of the Serco Integrated Services Leadership team in the formation of strategies and plans LD&T, aligned to Serco Group and regional objectives.

To develop, agree and manage a robust strategy and annual plans for the contracts to meet and exceed their contractual requirements and business targets.

To conduct regular reviews of plans to ensure business targets are delivered in an accurate and timely manner.

To ensure services are formulated to meet the needs of all current and future demands of both the marketplace and existing clients, alongside maximising the profit derived from all activities.

To support, identify and encourage the adoption of the self-delivery model across the portfolio to drive turnover and profit targets.

To lead the future direction of the contracts, including continuous improvement initiatives and customer advocacy to enable the successful rebids and organic growth of the contracts and accounts.

Growth and Financials

To ensure a business development strategy is in place to deliver the growth aspirations of the contracts in line with the commitment to the Business Unit and regional targets.

To ensure effective financial management is in place to achieve profit and cash targets and to meet Region/Serco and legal requirements.

Support the organic growth of the business by providing expertise and leadership to rebids, contract amendments and new contracts within the accounts in own area.

Customers and Markets

To lead and engage in the development of a network of senior relationships with customers, potential customers, partners and stakeholders in order to anticipate and meet customers` existing and future needs and enhance Serco`s reputation.

To lead customer service excellence and a continuous improvement culture, so that the business remains at the leading edge of service delivery and value.

To develop an excellent relationship with the contracts` customers, to anticipate future needs and continue to deliver growth and margin for Serco; and value for money for the customers.

To ensure the contracts` customers receive a great service, at great value.

Identify opportunities to satisfy customer requirements through inter-operability throughout our organisation.

Organisation and People

To provide leadership to the Irish Management Team such that all employees are fully engaged with and deliver business strategy/plans in line with Serco values

To run monthly operational meetings for the Contract Managers within the Irish portfolio along with support and attendance at Integrated Services management meetings.

To recruit, as required, professionally manage and develop Contract Managers and Support Team to ensure the contract contracts are staffed with talented, motivated people to improve the business.

To ensure that the contracts are optimally structured, managed and populated including leveraging shared service facilities as appropriate.

To facilitate the exchange of in-house expertise thus ensuring the economies of scale and best practice from across LD&T, the European Region and Serco globally are made available to the contracts.

To define and execute a talent management strategy in conjunction with robust succession plans.

Responsibility for all policies, practices, equipment and working conditions in line with Serco`s SMS Health and Safety guidelines.

Implement team reward and recognition activities in line with Serco policies.

Be a passionate and proactive role model for our Governing Principles, ensuring that they are fully Embedded throughout our organisation.

Knowledge Skills & Experience

Graduate calibre and ideally with additional business or specialist qualifications. Have experience of running multiple FM contracts across a wide geographic area.

Effective leadership with strong track record of delivering change in complex and demanding environments.

Experience in leading a sizeable P&L/function.

Knowledge across all business functions (ie finance, business development, HR and communications).

Leadership qualities with evidence of building and maintaining strong strategic relationships with internal and external customers and key business stakeholders.

Excellent analytical skills with ability to assimilate information quickly, and communicate key messages simply and effectively to the business to aid decision making.

Sound strategic thinker with the ability to operate with a hands-on, pragmatic approach when required.

Strongly values led individual with excellent judgement and decision making skills.

Self aware yet highly resilient individual capable of challenging and being challenged whilst also retaining their sense of humour.

Have operated within both the Private and Public Sectors.
