A Adecco Recruitment is recruiting an Certified Accountant for an International Client, based in Vila Nova de Gaia. Responsibilities • Oversee general ledger accounting activities, ensuring accurate and timely month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations and financial analysis • Assist in monthly financial analysis and reporting, including variance analysis versus prior periods and budget/forecast • Maintain and verify the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger • Support the documentation, monitoring and improvement of internal controls and accounting processes • Liaise with Internal and External Audit teams, preparing supporting documentation and SOX-compliant walkthroughs • Assist with the preparation of quarterly reports, analyzing and correcting discrepancies within the ERP system • Collaborate cross-functionally with business stakeholders, supporting decision-making through cost and profitability analysis • Prepare and/or file local VAT returns, as well as corporate tax accruals and filings • Oversee the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring timely and accurate compensation • Maintain detailed payroll records to ensure compliance with tax regulations, labour law and company policies Profile • 3 years of experience in Accounting or Finance • Strong understanding of accounting principles (IFRS knowledge is a plus) • CPA or ACCA qualification is preferred • Previous experience in an audit firm or SOX compliance environment is an advantage • Excellent English level (spoken and written) • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in other Office tools • Highly detail-oriented, well-organized and able to meet deadlines • Strong communication and interpersonal skills • Bachelors degree in Accounting or Business Management • Experience in a publicly listed company is a plus • Knowledge of Dynamics 365 or OneStream is considered an advantage
