Mission: For this position, we are looking for a Development Engineer to join our Research and Development team and make a difference. The following skills are required for the post: • MsC or PhD in Biomedical Engineering, Biological Engineering, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or a related field; • Solid knowledge of laboratory procedures, sample manipulation, and assay detection techniques (Spectrophotometry, Microscopy, Chromatography, Fluorescence); • Basic understanding of microfluidics, experience on design and prototyping is a plus; • Knowledge of surface treatment and coating techniques is a plus; • Proficiency in data analysis and statistics; knowledge of R or Python is a plus; • Dynamic, pro-active, and hands-on approach to tasks and challenges; • Exceptional team-working and communication skills; • Autonomy and organization, with the ability to work with minimal supervision; • Analytical thinking and a problem-solving attitude. Responsibilities (training will be provided where necessary): • Development of new point-of-care diagnostics assays and other quantitative assay applications; • Integration/adaptation of benchtop procedures into microfluidic devices, evaluation of assay compatibility, prototype validation and transfer to manufacture; • Data analysis, providing technical input and solutions for project challenges, and progress reporting; • Direct contact with internal and external partners to ensure design transfer for assay applications; • Compliance with regulatory requirements for R&D projects; • When required, assistance with other existing projects.
