Descrição da Função

We are recruiting directly for a prestigious client in the industrial sector, for the position of Finance & Accounting Officer, based in the Setúbal. Key Responsibilities: - Ensure full compliance with Portuguese accounting, tax, and social security regulations; - Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports; - Manage timely payroll submissions and statutory declarations; - Maintain accounting records in accordance with the Portuguese Accounting Standards (SNC); - Communicate effectively with the Certified Accountant and Group Financial Controller (UK). - Support the company’s financial operations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance; - Coordinate the monthly payroll process, including collection of Time & Attendance data for submission to the external payroll provider; - Support invoice processing and Accounts Payable (AP) activities across the Group, including reconciliations and reporting; - Assist in preparing and submitting monthly VAT returns and annual filings (IES, Modelo 22); - Support the Group’s Credit Control process, including issuing customer statements and following up on outstanding payments; - Ensure proper document retention and financial record keeping; - Manage the finance email inbox, ensuring timely responses and resolution of queries; - Support internal and external audits, as well as any other tasks that contribute to the efficient running of the finance department. Requirements: - Solid understanding of Portuguese accounting and tax principles; - Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; - Strong communication skills in English (written and spoken); - Experience with ERP or accounting systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; - Previous experience in a finance or accounting role preferred; - Ability to work effectively within an international team.
