We are currently seeking a Financial Accountant to join us in Braga, Portugal on a full-time, permanent and remote basis. If you're eager to be part of a mission-driven company at the forefront of sustainability, this is your opportunity! The successful candidate will be required to oversee financial operations, compliance and cost control within our Irish region. Principal Accountabilities: • Lead and manage the month-end closing process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. • Prepare weekly and monthly financial reports. • Collaborate with the finance team to identify key challenges and opportunities. • Implement system and process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness. • Leverage strong problem-solving skills to address financial challenges and follow through on actions to ensure successful outcomes. • Take ownership of the rolling 12-month forecasts, monitoring key performance indicators to ensure alignment with budgetary targets and driving strategic financial planning. • Provide support for ad-hoc management presentations and financial requests, delivering clear and actionable insights. • Lead the development and preparation of the company’s annual budget. • Oversee and manage the annual audit process, ensuring compliance and smooth execution. • Cultivate strong partnerships and maintain effective relationships with senior leadership. • Proactively identify and implement initiatives for process optimization and enhanced efficiency across financial operations. Requirements: • Degree or equivalent in Accounting or Finance. • 1-3 years of experience in a financial role. • Fluent in English with exceptional verbal and written communication skills (C2 level). • Experience with Sage (preferred) or similar accounting software. • Proficient in Excel, with advanced skills in pivot tables, SUMIF, VLOOKUP, and other key functions. • Strong analytical approach with the ability to clearly and concisely communicate financial performance and insights. • Proficient in PowerPoint and/or other presentation tools, with the ability to create engaging presentations. • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively and explain complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders. • Motivated with a proactive, goal-oriented approach. • Ability to meet deadlines, managing time and tasks effectively. • Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in all financial reports and analysis.
