Descrição da Função
IT House is looking for an Embedded Systems Team Lead for a direct placement with an end client in the Telecommunications & Communications Engineering sector, located in Aveiro. Main Responsibilities - Lead the roadmap and continuous evolution of a proprietary embedded operating system; - Drive embedded software development with a strong focus on embedded Linux, custom OS builds, device drivers and system tuning; - Oversee hardware architecture and integration, including advanced communication modules (Wi-Fi and Cellular 4G/5G); - Design and manage edge networking features, ensuring robust and secure device communication; - Manage and mentor the embedded engineering team, promoting technical excellence and collaborative problem-solving; - Act as the technical bridge between embedded systems and backend/platform teams to ensure seamless device integration. Requirements - Degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications or a related field; - Proven experience in Embedded Systems and Hardware engineering, ideally with technical leadership or mentoring experience; - Strong business acumen, able to translate business needs into clear technical requirements and drive a product roadmap; - Deep expertise in embedded Linux, including hands-on experience with build systems and kernel-level work; - Strong proficiency in C/C++ and scripting languages, with additional languages considered a plus; - Solid networking knowledge (TCP/IP, routing protocols, wireless standards) applied to embedded devices; - Hands-on experience integrating and troubleshooting Wi-Fi and Cellular (4G/5G) systems; - Understanding of cybersecurity principles applied to embedded and IoT devices; - Good communication skills to align technical requirements across engineering teams; - Autonomous, proactive and organized mindset with strong backlog management skills. - Valued (not mandatory): experience with hardware lifecycle and manufacturing coordination, hardware certification/compliance processes, backend/IoT communication protocols, and PCB/hardware debugging.
