Our legal department is looking for a Legal Counsel to provide legal services to our Operations & Services Department, covering the Construction, Maintenance and the Distribution activities across the Voltalia group. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified and experienced commercial / contracts lawyer to join a successful and growing renewable energy business, supporting our green energy international vision and mission. Responsibilities include: - Responding on behalf of the company to requirements for third party client tenders - Providing legal analysis, drafting and negotiation of national and international contracts for the construction and operation of renewable power plants (EPC, O&M) - Acting on behalf of the company to analyse and mitigate risk, to draft and negotiate contracts related to distribution activities such as agency, distribution, partnership agreements, etc. - Act on behalf of the company in disputes; providing advice on legal issues such as customer and suppliers claims, pre-litigation and litigation - Provide generalist support for the company's legal requirements; drafting letters, policies, contract templates and legal documents; ensuring accurate legal advice is given and that procedures are followed as per current local legislative and statutory compliance - Keep up to date with changes and developments in case law, contract law, liability, public procurement, local legislation, etc. REQUIREMENTS - 5 years of proven experience minimum - Experience in Projects (Construction & Maintenance) - Strong knowledge of contract law and construction law - Good knowledge and experience of common law - Command of French or Portuguese appreciated - Proficiency in English KEY SKILLS - Ability to identify and analyse main issues, to see the big picture - Business partner and team player - Proven negotiations skills - Able to work in autonomy while under the management of the legal manager - Management of priorities - Curiosity, creativity, solution-oriented Location for this role: France, Portugal or Ireland Permanent positon
