We are looking for a Machine Learning Engineer with the following requirements: On a given day, a Machine Learning Engineer will: • Define efficient deep learning models and design approaches for different NLP challenges; • Conduct exploratory data analysis and preprocessing cleansing techniques to ensure high-quality datasets for model training and testing; • Develop, train, and fine-tune selected linguistic models (i.e. BERT, focusing mainly on sentiment analysis and topic classification) using Python, TensorFlow, and other relevant tools and technologies; • Define and propose optimal approaches to deploy and serve models in a production environment via an open-source or a commercial ML Platform (i.e Amazon SageMaker); • Develop and implement mechanisms for model evaluation in development and production; • Participate in code reviews & write functional, unit, and integration tests; • Collaborate with other team members, including data engineers, product managers, and data analysts, to integrate the models into our existing systems and offerings; • Work with clients to collect and analyze their requirements, provide recommendations on how machine learning and natural language processing can address their needs, and design custom solutions for business needs; • Stay up-to-date with the latest research and developments in machine learning and natural language processing, and continuously propose improvements/alternatives to the models to achieve better accuracy and efficiency; Requeriments: • Minimum 3-4 years of experience in Data Science, Machine Learning Eng, or other related fields; • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering or any related technical discipline; • English C1. • Strong programming skills in Python and experience with relevant machine learning libraries and frameworks such as TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch, scikit-learn, gensim, nltk, and others; • Robust knowledge of NLP techniques like stemming, lemming, tokenization, and word embeddings; • Good understanding of machine learning algorithms and techniques, including deep learning, and statistical models; • Experience with fine-tuning/re-engineering pre-trained linguistic models for natural language processing (i.e. Hugging Face); • Experience with handling multilingual models (i.e. BERT), sentiment analysis, and topic classification use cases; • Previous professional exposure to client engagement, requirement gathering, and project scoping; • Familiarity with version control systems (Git), containerization (Docker) and iterative software development (Agile); Amazing if you have: • Experience with data analysis, data preprocessing, and feature engineering in NLP scenarios; • A Master's degree in Machine Learning, Data Science, or a related field; • Familiarity with basic MLOps concepts and modern model lifecycle management practices; • Experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS or Google Cloud Platform; • Strong communication skills, and ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders; • Ability to understand, analyze client data, and develop custom solutions to meet their unique requirements; • Duration: Contract for 12 Months (Minimum); • Remote (Candidates must be in Portugal).
