Real-time Communication Software Engineer (Lisbon, hybrid) Join a global software product company that transforms emergency response through innovative technology. We are seeking a Software Engineer to lead the development of cutting-edge real-time communication software for our Client’s life-saving platform. This role involves designing and implementing high-performance VoIP services and streaming architectures to ensure seamless emergency support. Key Responsibilities • Develop core RTC components across client and server levels, creating scalable infrastructures for real-time communication in emergency services • Work in multi-platform environments integrating mobile clients, VoIP/Streaming servers, command systems, and emergency devices • Contribute to diverse RTC open-source projects, including WebRTC (APIs and internals), HTTP Streaming, and media frameworks like GStreamer and FFmpeg • Optimize bandwidth estimation, and implement video/audio codecs such as VP8/9, H.264/5, SVC, Opus, and AAC Requirements • Relevant BSc degree • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science • 3+ years of backend development experience, focusing on Real-Time Communication (Audio/Video/WebRTC/Streaming).
