Sales & Account Manager
Descrição da Função
About us Terroir Vinhos de Identidade is a wine importer and distributor based in the Lisbon region. Our portfolio is built around small, independent, terroir-driven producers — around 100 winemakers from some ten countries, with France, Italy, Spain and Portugal at the core. We supply restaurants, wine bars, hotels and specialist retailers. We are not a catalogue business: we work with producers we believe in, over the long term, and we expect the same kind of relationship with our clients. The job You will manage and grow our client base — building new accounts and looking after the ones we already have. The role is based at our Lisbon office. You will be out with clients much of the week, but this is not a remote position: the working base is here, with the rest of the team. Day to day • Visit clients every week: restaurants, wine bars, hotels and specialist retailers. • Prospect actively — research the market, identify the places that fit our portfolio, and get through the door. • Take and process daily orders, and follow them through to delivery with the warehouse. • Run tastings: at the client, in our space, and at fairs and trade events. • Know the portfolio deeply — producer, region, vintage, style — and recommend the right wine for each list. • Build the relationship beyond the order: training staff, helping with wine lists, bringing producers to clients. • Keep client and order data up to date in our system, and keep your own pipeline visible. • Watch payment and credit on your accounts, and flag anything that needs attention early. • Feed the market back to us: what sells, what is missing from the portfolio, what the competition is doing. Planning and reporting • Plan your week in advance — a structured calendar, visits booked, a clear route for each day. • Report on visits, orders and pipeline so the team knows where the territory stands. • Work to agreed targets for new accounts, volume and portfolio spread. The list above is not exhaustive. We are a growing business, and as it grows the tasks and responsibilities of this role will change. We are looking for someone ready to take on new areas as they come up. Who we are looking for • Living in the Lisbon area, or ready to move here, with the right to work in Portugal. Fluent Portuguese and good English. • Experience in sales or account management, ideally with professional clients (HORECA, food and beverage, or specialist retail). • An existing network in the Portuguese wine or restaurant trade. • A real wine foundation — formal training or serious personal commitment — and the appetite to go much deeper. • Comfortable representing artisanal, small-production winemakers to a demanding audience. • Autonomous and organised. You manage your own diary and your own results. • Confident in front of people: tasting, presenting, and talking to a sommelier or an owner as an equal. • Driving licence and willing to be on the road most of the week. • Comfortable with a computer: email, spreadsheets, and quick to learn new software. • A third language — French, Spanish or Italian is useful with our producers.
Horário
What we offer • A full-time, long-term employment contract, with a three-month trial period. • Fixed salary plus a performance component linked to the growth of your territory. Pay is set against the experience and profile of the person we find. • Daily lunch allowance, private health insurance, and paid holiday in line with Portuguese law. • Travel costs covered, and the tools to do the job. • Serious wine education: producer visits, tastings, and time with the winemakers we represent. • Direct contact with the main decision makers. Decisions happen fast. • Real room to grow. As the business grows, the scope of this role grows with it. • A friendly, modern team that works well together and takes the work seriously.
