Descrição da Função

Profile: - Several years of hands-on experience administering SQL Server (2008–2022) in demanding, multinational IT environments; - Solid experience running SQL Server databases in public cloud environments such as AWS and Azure; - Familiarity with scripting and automation tools, particularly T-SQL, PowerShell and Puppet; - Working knowledge of ITIL methodologies and change management in large organisations; - Comfortable operating within a global team distributed across time zones; - Clear and confident communicator, capable of collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders; - Proactive mindset with a strong focus on problem-solving, process improvement and root cause analysis; - Familiarity with ServiceNow or other major ticketing systems is an advantage; - Additional experience with Oracle, MongoDB, Couchbase, PostgreSQL or Db2 is considered a plus; - Ability to document technical procedures and maintain structured knowledge bases; - Experience contributing to the development of IT standards and internal best practices; -Willingness to participate in 24/7 support rotations and occasional international travel; - Fluent in English. Responsibilities: - Ensure operational continuity of SQL Server database systems, within defined SLAs; - Participate in global daily operations meetings and act on incidents, changes and service requests; - Monitor and troubleshoot backup processes, database performance and system health; - Carry out database upgrades, migrations, patching and cloning operations; - Support disaster recovery exercises and ensure readiness of database infrastructure; - Analyse recurring issues and propose preventive measures to avoid reoccurrence; - Automate routine tasks and contribute to the industrialisation of database operations; - Implement and maintain monitoring tools and custom scripts to support system reliability; - Collaborate with clients to plan, advise and execute technical activities; - Evaluate new features, tools and services relevant to SQL Server and cloud operations; - Support documentation efforts and maintain clear, accurate records in ServiceNow; - Communicate identified risks, improvement opportunities and technical constraints effectively; - Contribute to the creation and delivery of new database-related services as part of the team’s engineering roadmap.
