Finance Manager - Hospitality industry - Oporto THE ROLE The Finance Manager will assist the Finance Director for Iberia in establishing our client business in Portugal and play a key role in preparing the company for the delivery of new business operations. The role requires someone with the ability to run the day-to-day finance function for the Hospitality division team, working effectively with internal stakeholders to implement best in class policies & procedures, and to leverage the support of external stakeholders to ensure the company adheres to local regulatory requirements. A significant focus in the role will be partnering with the Portuguese Hospitality division during operational planning and delivery; as well as the Head of F&B and the wider Senior Management team in Portugal and Iberia, helping to implement and develop new Hospitality systems, managing budgets, and overseeing accounting functions. This is a new opportunity to be an integral part of the team tasked with building a global business’ Hospitality presence in Portugal but will also be expected to play a pivotal role in the wider Iberian Finance team. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Establish and implement policies & procedures relevant to the Hospitality division to operate a best-in-class finance function. • Responsible for all accounting & compliance processes for the Hospitality division in Portugal. • Ensure a timely and accurate month end closing process for the Hospitality division, with delivery of management reporting and commentary. • Represent the Finance department in system implementation and development for the Hospitality division in Portugal and Iberia. • Build solid working relationships with business and central function department leaders, supporting the planning and operational delivery. • Support the Finance Director for Iberia during budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning & analysis. • Ensure the business follows all statutory reporting and tax compliance processes, leveraging local professional services. • Key involvement in cashflow management and reporting in Iberia. • Assistance with annual audit process. • Perform other duties as assigned by management. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, the candidate must be able to perform each essential duty above at the highest levels. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. • Minimum 5 years of Finance experience covering all principal areas of accounting and including Financial Planning & Analysis experience. • Professional accounting qualification. • University degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and other MS Office software required. • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail essential. • Ability to connect financial accounting information with its business context. • Proactive attitude and strong ability to building relationships with business partners. • Must be highly analytical, have the ability to think creatively and be proactive in striving for continuous process improvement. • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Portuguese & English, and the ability to multi- task and prioritize in a deadline-oriented environment. • Must be flexible to work extended hours due to business requirements including late nights, weekends, and holidays.
